Supporting Good Heart Health in the Workplace
12 Mar 2024
Health and Conditions
Every 3 minutes someone in the UK dies from a heart or circulatory disease. High risk factors are conditions or habits that increase your risk of developing a disease. These factors may include high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, obesity, smoking and physical inactivity. However, many heart and circulatory diseases caused by risk factors can be detected, controlled, treated or modified. The British Heart Foundation will share stories and insights on how the BHF is working with organisations to find better ways to identify people at risk and help them avoid disease and to triple the number of people surviving an out-of-hospital sudden cardiac arrest. Learning outcomes for delegates:
- To hear reasons and motivations why some organisations are deciding to invest authentically and significantly into the health and wellbeing of their organisation by detecting high risk factors present in their staff - office workers and front-line workers - and provide the appropriate help and signposts for those individuals affected by these risk factors.
- To see how organisations working with the BHF are able to overcome the challenges, obstacles and reticence from within the organisations to deliver meaningful interventions and support that works towards good heart health in the workplace
- To learn what is on offer from British Heart Foundation that is able to help individuals and organisations support the 7.6million people living with heart and circulatory diseases in the UK
