Laura is a Human Factors Engineer with a Systems Engineering background. She is an award-winning Chartered Engineer, and has had a very varied career - from designing cockpits to developing safety systems for the sustainable energy sector. Laura is a STEM Ambassador. Outside of work, she is a trustee for two charities: SheCanEngineer, who are dedicated to promoting and encouraging gender equity in Engineering and she hosts their podcast, and Epistemic, whose goal is to make STEM careers advice more accessible. Laura mentors several engineers and STEM professionals, supporting them with their professional registration and other development goals. In her spare time, she volunteers for a local charity who aim to tackle loneliness in the elderly community. Her hobbies include roller derby, papercraft, travelling, and spending time with her corgi.
